Following a record-breaking third quarter, Wall Street analysts significantly raised their price targets for the aerospace and technology giant, citing robust growth in its artificial intelligence and satellite connectivity divisions.

The most striking figure from the company's latest financial report was the 161 percent year-over-year increase in revenue, a surge that immediately captured the attention of financial markets. This explosive growth in the third quarter of 2026 served as the primary catalyst for a rapid reassessment of the company's valuation by major investment firms across the United States.

SpaceX reported total revenue of $14.6 billion for the quarter, a figure that comfortably surpassed the consensus estimates, which had hovered near $12.7 billion. The company also marked a significant financial turning point by posting a net profit of $4.4 billion, reversing a loss recorded in the same period the previous year. Additionally, adjusted EBITDA reached $8.8 billion, underscoring the strength of the company's operating performance during this period.

The driver behind this financial expansion was the company's Super Intelligence division, which generated approximately $7.6 billion in revenue. This segment became the largest contributor to the company's total income, expanding by nearly 830 percent compared to the prior year. Meanwhile, the Connectivity segment delivered $5.2 billion in revenue, supported by strong subscriber growth that increased the Starlink consumer base to 13.6 million users.

Following the earnings call, which concluded after the market close on October 20, a wave of price target adjustments rippled through Wall Street. JPMorgan made the most dramatic move, more than doubling its target to $500 from $240 while maintaining an Overweight rating. Other major institutions followed suit with substantial upward revisions, reflecting a broad shift in sentiment toward the stock.

Cantor Fitzgerald raised its target to $345 from $246, also with an Overweight rating. Barclays and Morgan Stanley both set their targets at $300, with Barclays moving from $254 and Morgan Stanley holding its previous level. Citi increased its target to $240 from $200, while UBS moved to $230 from $210. TD Cowen raised its target to $224 from $200, and Wells Fargo adjusted its outlook to $274 from $214. Clear Street also raised its target to $248 from $217.

The optimism was largely driven by the company's forward-looking guidance. CEO Elon Musk and CFO Bret Johnsen outlined revenue expectations for the first quarter of 2027 ranging from $33 billion to $37 billion. This projection stood in stark contrast to the approximately $22 billion that analysts had previously modeled. Furthermore, management detailed capital-expenditure plans for the fourth quarter totaling between $35 billion and $40 billion, primarily focused on expanding AI compute infrastructure at sites in Memphis and Southaven.

Management indicated a goal of achieving 2.5 to 3 gigawatts of nameplate compute capacity by the end of the current year, with pathways to reach 13 gigawatts or more by the end of 2027. Musk described relentless demand from hyperscalers and other customers, noting that current compute pricing supports payback periods of less than a year, with some potentially as short as six months. This rapid return on investment was cited as a key factor in the company's long-term earnings power.

Additional factors contributing to the bullish outlook included recent orbital successes for the Starship vehicle and the deployment of V3 satellites. The company also highlighted momentum in Starlink enterprise pricing and the rapid adoption of its Grok Bot. Notably, special committees were formed to explore a possible combination with Tesla, adding another layer of strategic interest to the company's stock.

Following the release of these results, shares which had closed at $147.79 on October 20, jumped approximately 8 percent in early premarket trading on October 21. Investors are currently digesting the elevated street targets and the company's aggressive expansion plans, with the average analyst price target moving higher to reflect greater conviction in the trajectory of its launch, connectivity, and AI businesses.
